Cortez Fishing Village is an historical site of a once thriving fishing community. It still revolves around fish, with a fleet of boats that head out to the Gulf Of mexico in search of fish. There is an old and a newer fishpacking plant and a restaurant where you can dine with the pwlicans and seagulls. This painting is of that very view, looking out at the working boats from Star Seafood. The pelicans are like an airforce of birds , as intent on catching fish as the big boats.
