In the evening as the full moon rises, a single speedboat slices through the calm water. Lights twinkle on here and there across the urban nightscape, bringing warmth to the apartments and condos that line the bay.

This painting was based on a view from the John Ringling Bridge, that spans Sarasota Bay over to St. Armand's Circle and Lido Beach. I have been thinking of ways to approach the lovely view from up on the bridge, looking down on the city, for some time. This painting pretty much painted itself.
