This flower always awakens a feeling of magic in me. It is a strange plant, hallucinogenic, poisonous, with oversized flowers that hang  on clusters. The are delicately shaded with the deepest tangerine/pink at the bottom, grading up through light pinks and greens. At night they open to the diameter of dinner  plates, to attract a certain specific moth that has a very long probiscus for drinking its nectar. Overall a strange and mysterious plant.

In this picture I took off on that fantastical aspect of the flower, depicting it in a magic garden of not quite night, nor day. Musty depths take the eye back in space, while everything rotates around the flowers. I kept the palette in the cool blue range and the tone very subdued with no pure whites at all .
