This is a continuation of my ballet series. I was fortunate to be present at a rehearsal of the Sarasota Ballet, a first class company. They were working on a Balanchine piece, Apollo, with Sandra Jennings, who is one of the few people authorized to stage Balanchine dances. From my high vantage point I was able to observe the dancers going about the work of assembling a ballet. They are shown in casual or street dress, though some ballerinas are wearing the classic skirt.
