On The Rockes, Gibsons Landing was painting on the rocks last summer on a visit to my brother's place in British Columbia. I was using a new medium for me, acrylic gouache, which seems to have tremendous versatility. In this area of BC there are a lot of rocks. Also , a lot of water all around. I like the immediacy of this painting. It captures the essence of the place with economical means. The painting has been mounted on board and varnishe with acrylic matt medium. Much nicer than when it was a wrinkly piece of paper! I think the gouache will be my go-to traveling medium for now.
