There are old, ancient granite boulders in the lake where my family has a house in Maine. The water is crysstal clear, but has a brownish color, like tea. I have painted the rocks from our pier many times and it is always different, depending on the light, the wind and my perceptions. On this day I was intrigued by looking down at the rocks both below and above the water. The world below the surface is somehow more magical than the dry rock above. The dazzling sunlight reflecting off the ripples adds to the magic feeling. The more I looked down into the lake's watery lens, the more I saw.
