This painting reflects my idea about life. What is basic, true and beautiful needs to be expressed and I chose for that theme a young ballerina dancing on a beach with a panoply of stars arcing across the sky behind her.  When I dance, I feel a connection to the universe, as all the silly minutia that I burden myself with, just fades away. The act of dancing connects with the whole history of humanity. We have always danced, when we feel joy, when we feel afraid, or sad. The movement says to our own bodies, that everything is fine. Everything will be fine and even if it all goes to hell, we have this one moment of joy, dancing at the edge of the universe.
