I enjoy the pace of a great city like New York. There is so much visual stimulation that at the end of the day I might have a headache from looking at everything, but there is beauty to be found in every direction. I look at the scenes before me and hear music, sometimes loud and clangy, sometimes noble and powerful, but usually jazzy with colors and rhythms bouncing off each other.

This painting encapsulates that visual music. The focal point is the young woman in the red coat walking by a curved storefront window, the complex shapes behind her have just that kind of jumpy rhythm. I also introduced subtle abstract shapes that blend and vibrate with music.
