Blueberries in Maine are grown in field of low bushes, punctuated with granite boulders. I have driven by this one for many years but decided to stop and paint it, even though I was on my way to someplace else. I knew it would be a challenge to capture what is so interesting about the place, but I just followed the contours of the land.
