The light changes and the flood of people begins to cross the street. In the jumble of pedestrians going in opposite directions, there is a kind of music. I see rhythm in their movement. This long format painting, one of a pair done together, is a style I have been developing for over 40 years. It began in New York City and I always associate it with a big metropolis, or wherever there is a large flow of people.
