This painting is one of my favorites. I had the nice experience today, of meeting with the owners of this piece, whom I hadn't seen since the sale, years ago. They told me th painting is a major presence in their home and they look at it every day. That information is very welcome. It's hard sometimes to see the painting go. Yes, the money is welcome, but some part of me wants to keep all the paintings around me. Maybe it's because they give each other context. They are like family. Revisiting it, I'm reminded of how pleasant it was to paint it and how I didn't want it to be finished, I was enjoying the process so much.
