We ended our month-long trip in a small village near Leeds, England, named Barwick-In-Elmet. The town is full of interesting historical things, but the biggest clain to fame is the world's tallest May Pole, at 86 feet. I made sure to include it in my plein air painting, which I did from atop a hill that hsd been a fortress more than 1000 years ago.

Clouds flew across the sky in a gusty wind that blew my hand as I tried to paint. I finished it up inside, along with a hot cup of tea.
