I could have watched the waves breaking, spilling their white foam over the rocks and then receding, all day. Instead, I painted this study. The fresh, cool air off the Atlantic Ocean excited me as much as the waves.

I intend to do a larger version of this in my studio, using this as my reference, a practice I find interesting. The study I did there on the rocky cliff, informs me of the real feelings and movement, more than a photograph does. The study is a record of the emotional experience, as well as the visual one.
