I found myself standing on a bridge in Florence, watching the people walking past. The day was almost over and the weather was very cold, but the light and setting were gorgeous. I began photographing the pedestrians from all over the world, including locals, returning from work of going out for the evening. I even asked my wife, Debbie to cross over and walk back and forth. SHe's the one in the long black coat. The painting is one in a continuation of my Passacaglia Project, in which people pass by in front of the picture plane.
