This was painted as a class demonstration. The scene is an avenue near my home in Sarasot FL. In the morning the sun stripes the sidewalk and street with alternating bands of light and shadow.  I spoke about the elements of composition in this image, the drama created by yhe intense blast od sunlight from the left, foreground. The eye enters the picre from lower left and follows the diagonal line over to the tree, where it rises up and srches over the top to return the eye on the left. It also travels along the path, into the distance. In composition, we must keeo the ey moving and interested at all times.
