This painting is a result of my tendency to walk around looking up, looking very foolish sometimes. But I am rewarded with amazing sights, as in this case where I saw a flock of migrating white pelicans soaring overhead. The light through the trees and the unusual perspective seem to epitomize one of my major painting goals, communicating and reminding us all to look up.
