Evening Breeze is a second version of a painting I did over three years ago, title, Debbie's World. It has differences, even thought the elements are similar. It is very uncharacteristic of me to paint a second versio, though I have done it on occasion. In this case, the Dabbert Gallery asked me to do another version, because Dabbie's world belongs to Debbie and that's that.
I found it very hard to do this one for some reason, but I think it has some qualities that are an improvement over the other.
It is always a thrill to work on a large canvas. You feel enveloped in the scene and in this cas, the ocean feels like it is lapping at your feel.As in the first painting, I p;laced Debbie on the pier in a red dress. It is a romantic scene, with the two sailboats in the distance and the deeply colored clouds becoming the major players in the composition.
