This is a very exciting painting, even if I say so. It wants to jump off the canvas. In one respect it is a painting of flowers, but it would be a stretch to call it a still life! I feel that this painting took my floral work to another level, finding depths to the subject that give the image its power. It was created the same time as Celestial Sunflowers, an equally powerful canvas.
